Today is

Bob Wills - Texas Legend

For 39 years now, the last Saturday in April has been the day
that thousands of fans from around the world transform the sleepy West Texas town of Turkey into the center of the Western Swing universe. Turkey, Texas is the hometown of Bob Wills, the innovator of one of the few truly American forms of music known as Western Swing. This unique genre is a fusion of Country, Western, Jazz, Blues and even Gospel music, and unlike most forms, fans don't go to a concert to just listen to a Western Swing band, they go to dance!

This year's 39th annual Bob Wills Day Festival promises the best entertainment yet and we are proud to announce that we have booked Henry Baker and the C.O.W.S. ( Church of Western Swing) Band plus Special Guests for our Thursday, April 22nd dance.

The South Plains Cowboys and The Texas Playboys will play Friday night, April 23rd,
both bands for one price!

Western Swing Hall of Fame inductee, Jody Nix and the Texas Cowboys
play Saturday night April 24th.

Saturday, April 24th is Bob Wills Day and events include a breakfast, parade, Old Fiddler's
contest, FREE Texas Playboys afternoon concert, BBQ lunch, arts and crafts and much more.

This year, we have Dave Alexander and his Big Texas Swing Band performing at the Gem Theatre
all three days:
Thurs. 3:30pm & 6:15pm, Fri. 10:00am, 3:30pm & 6:15pm and Sat. 6:15pm
